Sarah M Dorsey Design

Sarah-M-Dorsey-Logo2 “Hi I am Sarah and I love art and design! I am originally from Frederick, MD where I met my husband – we were married in 2009 and recently relocated to Central Coast California for his work and I am now a free lance designer. Together with my crazy/grand ideas and David’s creativity and ability to figure them out, we love creating DIY projects to make our rental feel more like a home.”

Primitive and Proper

primitive-and-proper-logo “I am a 34 year old mother of 2- a boy and a girl! I love to decorate… and redecorate….. and then redecorate again! I like all things pretty, prefer a mix of modern and vintage as long as they work together to create an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. Everything I do is on a very limited budget, because I can’t afford it, and even if I could, why would I spend buckets of money on things I know I can do for less!”

Our Fifth House

Our Fifth House Blog “Welcome to Our Fifth House! Yes, we are currently living in our fifth house; and yes, I know I’m a genius for coming up with such an original blog name! The hubs is a southern boy, born and raised right here in Lexington, Kentucky, and I’m not your typical Southern California girl. We are opposites in almost every sense of the word. Design is no exception. He likes modern, 60’s inspired design. I lean toward classic, traditional with an updated twist. Needless to say it gets a little confusing at times trying to merge our styles to create a home that feels comfortable for both of us.”

Not Just a Housewife

Not Just a Housewife logo “I like working with a small budget because I think it forces you to think outside of the box. I take pride in having unique pieces in my home and that is one reason I don’t really follow trends. I didn’t even know what Anthropology, Ballard, and all those stores were until months after starting this blog. I get my inspiration from the things around me. Most of the projects I do involve power tools because that is what I am comfortable using and what I LOVE to do.”

Eclectically Vintage

Eclectically Vintage Logo “When I’m not sharing my love of all things vintage, cool collections, decorating, mixing old and new, flea markets, estate sales, junk and unique art, you might find my feet sticking out of a dumpster, scouring the neighborhood for curbside castoffs, or perusing the thrift shop aisles. My dream came true when I bought a rundown 100+ year old house which I completely gut renovated. I found that a little legwork can get you the highest quality for the lowest price.”
