Traditional

Traditional design uses classic styling and symmetry to create a calm, orderly decor. Furnishings are usually 18th-century English, 19th-century neoclassic, British Colonial revival and French country. The color palette is usually in the mid-tones and fabrics are muted, usually simple florals, stripes, solids or plaids.

You Are Talking Too Much

You Are Talking Too Much “My name is Rebecca. I am a mom of two and a grateful wife of one. The last few years, I have less desire for more and more value in less. I love sharing thrifty ideas that I find and some that I may try to attempt. My hope is that this blog brings for strangers and friends a relaxing, inspiring and fun place to land. Come sit, share and laugh as you are passing thru. I am so excited to meet you.”

Tidbits from the Tremaynes

tidbits from the tremaynes “Hi. I’m Mandi. I build crap. I’m raising 4 homies. I take massive amounts of pictures. And I’m not afraid to show the embarrassing ones. I believe that molding will make the world a better place. I believe you can never have too much trim. I believe the bigger, the better. I believe that projects always come before cleaning. My house is always a disaster. I love Netflix, eating, and my Play Station 3. I believe that everyone should get 9 hours of sleep at night, and nothing should start before 9 am. Maybe 10. Welcome to this funny farm.”

Southern Hospitality

southern-hospitality-logo “Thanks for stopping by! I’m Rhoda, from Atlanta, GA and I love decorating and DIY projects. Decorating a home doesn’t have to cost a fortune and I’ve spent years thrifting at antiques markets and yardsales, finding those treasures that make a home unique. I’m here to inspire and encourage other women to find their own inner creativity.”

Brooklyn Limestone

brooklyn-limestone “I started blogging so I could document the renovation process. I figured it would force me to be disciplined about writing it down. The plan was to make a little book out of those photos and posts and close up shop. I never expected to blog about anything else other than the renovation but as you can see, it didn’t work out the way I had expected. I never did get around to doing that renovation photo album. Maybe one day soon?”

A Thoughtful Place

a-thoughtful-place “I’m Courtney, a stay at home mommy of two who’s just trying to keep it all together! I have always been obsessed with all things having to do with design and the home. I believe that you can make a space charming and beautiful with a little bit of thought and creativity . . . and not a lot of money. I love a great bargain! I am also head over heels for all things organized. If I can find a better way to organize something than it’s a good day. And more than anything, I love finding ways to make things personalized and thoughtful.”

320 Sycamore

320-sycamore
“My favorite movie is It’s a Wonderful Life. 320 Sycamore is the address of the old Granville house~remember George and Mary throwing rocks at the windows? Mary breaks one and secretly makes a wish that she will marry George and they will live in that house one day. The house is a wreck, George swears he wouldn’t live in it as a ghost, but Mary sees the charm and potential in it, and makes it into their home.”
So, I guess that’s what this blog is all about: bringing out the charm and potential in our homes and families, with a bit of nonsense and good deals scattered here and there.
